General Smash Repair Questions

First, check that everyone is safe and move out of traffic if it's safe to do so. Exchange names, contact and insurance details with the other driver, photograph the damage and the scene, and note the location and time. If anyone is injured or vehicles can't be moved, call emergency services. Once you're safe, you can send us photos of the damage or call us to arrange an assessment, and we can talk you through the repair and insurance steps from there.

Yes. We handle everything from small dents, scratches and bumper scuffs through to major structural collision damage. After an accident, the extent of the damage isn't always obvious from the outside, so we assess the vehicle properly before recommending a repair method. You can read more about our accident damage repairs.

It starts with an assessment of the damage, followed by a written quote and, where insurance is involved, communication with your insurer for approval. Once the repair is approved, we order any parts required, complete the panel, structural and paint work, then carry out a final quality check before returning your vehicle. We keep you updated at the key stages so you're never left wondering where things are up to.

If there's fluid leaking, damage to the wheels, steering, lights or suspension, sharp or dragging panels, or anything affecting your visibility, the vehicle may not be safe to drive and is best assessed before you take it back on the road. Some damage that affects safety isn't visible from the outside, so when in doubt, it's safer to arrange for the car to be inspected or towed rather than risk driving it.

Yes. Modern vehicles absorb impact through structural components and mounting points behind the panels, so damage often extends beyond what you can see. During an assessment we check underlying structural areas, not just the visible panels, which is why a proper inspection gives a more accurate picture than a quick glance or a single photo.

Yes. We repair a wide range of vehicle makes and models, including passenger cars, SUVs, utes and light commercial vehicles, both Australian and European. If you're unsure whether we can repair your particular vehicle, give us a call and we'll let you know.

Choosing a Repairer & Repair Quality

Look for a repairer who assesses the damage properly, explains what needs doing and why, keeps you informed, and stands behind the quality of their work. It's also worth checking they can handle the insurance side if you're claiming, and that they'll return the vehicle to a safe, structurally sound and well-finished condition, not just cover the damage cosmetically. A workshop that's happy to talk you through the process before you commit is usually a good sign.

Because the visible damage is often only part of the story. Impact forces travel through a vehicle's structure, so a knock that looks minor on the surface can involve mounting points, structural members or safety components underneath. A proper assessment identifies what actually needs repairing, which leads to a more accurate quote and a safer result than working from appearances alone.

It depends on where it is and whether the paint is broken. Cosmetic dents in intact paint aren't urgent, but once paint is chipped or scratched through to the metal, the exposed surface can start to rust over time, and a small repair now is usually cheaper than a larger one later. If you're not sure, send us a photo and we'll give you an honest view on whether it's worth attending to.
Have a look over the repaired area in good light: check that panel gaps are even, the paint colour and finish blend with the surrounding panels, and any trim, lights or fittings sit correctly. It's also reasonable to ask what work was carried out and what the workmanship guarantee covers. A good repairer will happily walk you through the finished job.

Insurance & Accident Claims

In many cases you can choose the repairer you'd like to use, but your rights and any conditions depend on your specific insurance policy and circumstances. Some policies allow a free choice of repairer, while others may direct you to particular workshops. If you're not sure what your policy allows, we can help explain the process and talk to your insurer where appropriate. Learn more about our insurance claim assistance.

We work with all the major Australian insurers, including NRMA, AAMI, Allianz, GIO, QBE, Budget Direct and Suncorp, among others. That means we can manage the repair side of most comprehensive claims directly. If you're with a smaller or less common insurer, call us and we'll confirm how your claim can be handled.

Yes. We handle the repair-related paperwork and liaise with your insurer on the assessment, approval and repair process, which takes a lot of the back-and-forth off your plate. You still lodge the claim with your insurer, but once it's with us we coordinate the repair side so you're not caught in the middle.

Typically you'll need your insurer's details, your claim or policy number, and details of the accident and the other party if one was involved. Photos of the damage help us give you an accurate starting point. If you're missing anything, get in touch anyway, we can guide you on what's needed to move the claim forward.

Whether an excess applies, and how much, depends on your policy terms and the circumstances of the claim, so we can't guarantee an amount. As a general guide, an excess is often payable when you make a claim, though there are situations where it may be reduced or waived. Your insurer confirms the exact figure, and we're happy to help you understand where the repair costs sit alongside it.

If you're not at fault and the other party is identified, there may be options for having the repair costs recovered from the at-fault party's insurer, but this depends entirely on the circumstances and the insurers involved. It's best to confirm your position with your own insurer. Once your claim path is clear, we can carry out the repair and coordinate with the relevant insurer where needed.

Yes. For smaller damage, or where the repair cost is close to your excess, some drivers prefer to pay privately rather than lodge a claim. We provide free quotes for private work so you can compare the cost against your excess and any effect on your premium before deciding. Send us a photo or bring the car in and we'll give you an honest assessment.

Panel Beating & Dent Repairs

Often, yes. Where the paint is intact and the dent is in an accessible area, paintless dent repair can restore the panel without filler or repainting, which is usually faster and more cost-effective. It isn't suitable for every dent, sharp creases, damaged paint or hard-to-reach areas may need traditional panel work. We'll assess the panel and recommend the right approach. See our panel beating services for more.

A panel is usually replaced when the damage is too severe to restore to a safe, factory-quality finish, or when the metal is stretched, torn or corroded beyond repair. Repairing is generally preferred where it can return the panel to proper strength and appearance, and replacement is used where it can't. We assess each panel individually and recommend whichever option gives the best long-term result.

Yes. Hail typically leaves multiple small dents across horizontal surfaces like the roof, bonnet and boot, and where the paint is undamaged this can often be corrected with paintless dent repair. The right method depends on how many dents there are, their depth and location, so we assess the vehicle before quoting.
Yes. Light surface scratches and scuffs can sometimes be polished or touched up, while deeper scratches that have gone through the paint usually need refinishing to restore protection and appearance. We'll let you know which applies once we've seen the damage.

Windscreen Repairs

It depends on the size, depth and location of the damage. Smaller chips and short cracks that aren't in the driver's line of sight can often be repaired with resin, while larger, spreading or deep damage, or anything directly in the driver's view, generally requires a full replacement for safety. We assess the glass and recommend the safe option rather than guessing. More detail is on our windscreen repair and replacement page.
It can. Many modern vehicles have driver-assist cameras and sensors (ADAS) mounted to the windscreen for features like lane-keeping and automatic emergency braking, and these need recalibrating after the glass is replaced so they read the road accurately. We carry out ADAS recalibration as part of the replacement where your vehicle requires it.
Yes. We offer mobile windscreen repair and replacement across Moorebank, Liverpool and surrounding suburbs for eligible damage, and we handle the insurance paperwork for windscreen claims. Some comprehensive policies cover eligible windscreen chip repairs with no excess, but this depends on your policy, so it's worth calling us before paying out of pocket and we can help you check what applies.

Truck & Heavy Vehicle Repairs

Yes. We repair trucks and heavy vehicles, including accident damage, cab and body panels and paintwork. Heavy-vehicle owners usually care most about turnaround and getting back on the road, so we focus on assessing the damage quickly and giving you a realistic timeframe. Learn more about our heavy vehicle repairs.

Yes. We can manage insurance repairs for trucks and commercial vehicles and coordinate with your insurer on assessment and approval. Because downtime is costly for operators, we work to keep the process moving and communicate clearly on timing so you can plan around the repair. Call us to discuss scheduling for your vehicle.

Fleet Repairs

Yes. We provide repairs for business fleets, from cars and vans through to utes and heavier vehicles, and can coordinate the work to suit your operations. For fleets, consistency and minimising off-road time matter as much as the repair itself, so we focus on clear communication and practical scheduling. See our fleet repair services.

Yes. We can coordinate repairs across several vehicles through a single point of contact, so you're not chasing updates across separate jobs. That makes it easier to track which vehicles are in, what's approved and when each one is due back, and to stagger the work so you keep as much of the fleet on the road as possible. Get in touch to set up an arrangement that fits how your business runs.

Spray Painting & Paint Repairs

Yes. We colour-match to your vehicle's paint using its factory colour code and blending techniques so repaired areas sit as closely as possible with the surrounding panels. Factors like age, fading and the original finish can affect how paint has weathered, which is exactly why matching and blending are done carefully rather than by code alone. More on our car spray painting service.

In most cases only the affected panels need painting, and we blend the new paint into the surrounding areas for a consistent finish. A full respray is usually only needed where paint damage is widespread, or where you want to change the colour or refresh the whole vehicle. We'll advise which makes sense for your car and budget.

Yes. Faded, peeling, oxidised or scratched paint can generally be repaired by preparing and refinishing the affected areas. The right approach depends on how far the damage has progressed, so we assess the paintwork before recommending whether a touch-up, panel respray or larger job is appropriate.

Car Detailing

A professional detail typically covers a thorough interior and exterior clean, and can include paint correction, polishing and protection to bring back the finish. It's a good way to complete the job after a repair so the whole vehicle looks its best, not just the repaired section. See our car detailing service for what's included.

Yes. A detail is one of the most cost-effective ways to present a car for sale, since a clean, well-finished interior and exterior make a strong first impression on buyers. We can tailor the detail depending on the vehicle's condition and how far you want to take it.

Caravan Repairs

Yes, we repair accident and body damage to caravans. The right repair depends on how the caravan is built and the extent of the damage, so we assess each one before recommending a course of action rather than quoting blind. You can learn more about our caravan repairs.

It's a good idea. Caravans can sustain damage to their frame or body that isn't obvious from the outside, and issues left unchecked can worsen over time. Having it assessed after an accident gives you a clear picture of what actually needs attention before you tow it again. Get in touch and we'll arrange a look.

Quotes, Costs & Repair Times

The cost depends on the type and extent of the damage, the parts required, whether panels can be repaired or need replacing, and whether painting is involved, so there's no single price that fits every job. Rather than quote a figure that may not apply to your vehicle, we provide a free, no-obligation quote once we've assessed the damage. That way the price you get is based on your actual car, not a guess.

Yes. You're welcome to send photos of the damage via WhatsApp and we can give you an initial indication, which is a handy first step before bringing the car in. A photo estimate is a starting point rather than a final figure, and an in-person assessment lets us confirm the full extent of the damage and give you an accurate quote.

Because photos don't always show underlying or structural damage. Collision damage often extends behind the visible panels into mounting points and structural areas that only a proper inspection reveals. A photo gives us a useful starting point, but we confirm the exact price once we've seen the vehicle so there are no surprises later.

It depends on several things: the extent of the damage, whether panels can be repaired or need replacing, parts availability, the amount of paint work, and, for insurance jobs, approval times. Because those vary from car to car, we give you a realistic timeframe once we've assessed your vehicle, rather than a one-size-fits-all estimate, and we'll let you know if anything changes along the way.

Yes. We stand behind our workmanship and provide a guarantee on our repairs, so you can have confidence in the quality and finish of the work. If you have any questions about what the guarantee covers for your particular repair, just ask when you collect your vehicle.
